About this section

Mathematics Knowledge tests the high-school math you need to know cold: definitions, rules and formulas rather than long word problems. It is part of the AFQT, together with Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension.

The category is organized into 14 lessons. The number and algebra half covers number properties and divisibility, signed numbers, exponents, roots and scientific notation, algebraic expressions, linear equations, inequalities, systems and relationships, and functions, patterns and sequences. The geometry half moves through angles and lines, triangles, quadrilaterals and polygons, circles, area, surface area and volume, and coordinate geometry and graphs.

Work through the lessons in order if algebra is rusty, or jump to the geometry lessons if formulas are your weak point. Since MK counts toward the AFQT, it deserves regular review all the way to test day.
