About this section
General Science checks your knowledge of life, physical, earth and space science. It is not part of the AFQT, but it feeds several service composite scores that help determine which jobs you qualify for.
The 12 lessons start with the scientific method, measurement and data. Life science follows with cells and basic biology, genetics, heredity and evolution, human body systems, and ecology. Physical science covers matter, atoms and the periodic table, chemical reactions, acids and bases, motion and forces, and energy, heat and waves. The category closes with earth science, astronomy and an integrated science review that mixes all of it.
If you are aiming at a technical or medical job, give this subject real study time. Even a few weeks of focused review can refresh facts you last saw in high school classes. Each lesson ends with a short lesson test.
