About this section
Electronics Information covers electricity, circuits and electronic components. It does not count toward the AFQT, but services use it in composites for electrical, communications and many technical jobs.
This category has 12 lessons. You begin with electric charge, current and voltage, then resistance and conductors, Ohm's law, and electrical power and energy. Circuit lessons cover series circuits, parallel circuits, AC and DC, and circuit components and symbols. Later lessons explain semiconductors and basic electronic devices, magnetism and electromagnetism, and motors, generators and transformers, finishing with electrical safety and troubleshooting.
Many EI questions come down to a formula and a diagram, so practice reading schematics as you go and keep a short sheet of the key relationships between voltage, current, resistance and power. A lesson test follows every lesson, letting you confirm each idea before the next one builds on it.
